The Arch Villain was once created by Franz Xaver Messerschmidt and the sculpture belongs to the famous collection of the so-called character heads. This bronze bust is an image of a stubbed and grimly man with lots of details. The head is made of 100% bronze and a real eye-catcher. The whole collection of character heads includes over 52 heads with bizarre facial expressions, but the Arch Villain is a very well known one.

As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.

Franz Xaver Messerschmidt was born in 1736 and was an Austrian-German sculptor, who is nowadays famous for his "character heads". Franz Xaver Messerschmidt studied in Vienna and also visited the beautiful city Rome in 1765 for studying. His sculptures "character heads" are characterized by several strange facial expressions. Franz Xaver Messerschmidt died in 1783, but it is not known if he really was mentally ill, like often mentioned. His "character heads" are parted in different groups classified by the facial expression of the head.
