What a splendid figure of bronze! Very nice Art Deco Vienna Bronze - Satyr with baby, sitting on his shoulders, eating grapes. This sculpture is affixed on finest marble and the sculpture shows a young faun with a sweet little baby on his shoulders. Placed on a well shaped marble-base the figure is a great showpiece for friends of Art Deco and Vienna bronzes. The sculpture is signed by the artist Bergmann on base. It is a tue detailed museum bronze cast and focal point in every exhibition! An absolute eye-catcher for friends of bronze sculptures, Art Deco or Vienna Bronze collectors and fans of satyr bronze figures.
As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.
The Art Deco Vienna bronze sculptures from the foundry “Bergmann” are famous art objects from Vienna, Austria. The foundry was founded in 1884 by Franz Bergmann after he got the first time in touch with bronze artwork at the Paris World’s fair in 1884. His son Franz Xaver Bergmann become part of the foundry and continued his fathers work after he died. Xaver Bergmann was a good chaser. In 1930 during the great depression the foundry got closed, but reopened in 1954 by Xaver Bergmann’s son Robert and his wife. After Robert died his widow was the only owner and finally sold the foundry to „Fuhrmann & Co“, the company which is still continuing the tradition of Franz Bergmann under the new name "Bergmann- Vienna Bronze".
