The great artist and sculptor Alexander Archipenko was born on May 30, 1887 in Kiev, Ukraine. He lived in Russia, France, a few years in Germany and in the USA, where he died on February 25, 1964 in New York. Archipenko is one of the pioneers of the modernism and the modern sculpture. The work of Alexander Archipenko always impressed the audience and his public. He was one of those artists who connected different materials in very different ways. Archipenko founded two art schools, one in France and one in Germany, and was the first sculptor who devolved the cubism on the sculpture.
