William I.- German Emperor bronze bust, signed Gladenbeck

This is a real beautiful Military bronze bust of William I., also known as Wilhelm I., the King of Prussia and later the first Emperor of Germany. The sculpture shows the popular emperor wearing his typical German uniform clothes. He is honoured with lots of decorations and medals, that give an impress of his great services to the countries of Prussia and Germany. The bust itself is set on a special shaped bronze plinth, which guarantees highest solidity. The sculpture is signed by its creator Hermann Gladenbeck at the back and worked in detail. It consists of 100% finest bronze and will be a great part in each collection.

As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.

Hermann Gladenbeck, the artist who signed this high quality Military bronze bust, was born on January 1, 1827 in Berlin and died on November 11, 1918 in Friedrichshagen. After he had completed his apprenticeship he was in charge of the Royal Foundry in Berlin. There Hermann Gladenbeck produced many memorials and statues, such as the Victoria-Sculpture after Friedrich Drake at the top of the Victory Column in Berlin. The foundry later on was managed by Gladenbeck's eldest son. With the bust of the German Emperor William I. the caster Gladenbeck showed once more his foundry skills.
