The German sculptor Hermann Gladenbeck made this beautiful Military sculptor of Frederick the Great of Prussia. The artist was born in 1827 in Berlin and had been working in a famous and popular foundry. Later he led together with his son the company "Gladenbeck & Sohn". They cast a lot of important sculptures and bronze figures, such as a monument of Immanuel Kant in Königsberg or the Victoria-figure on the Victory Column in Berlin, that was created by Friedrich Drake. The caster died in 1913 in Friedrichshagen.
